I went to Burbank this past weekend for what had been advertised as the Final Farscape covention run by Creations Entertainment. I had gone to the very first one with a dear friend who has since died, and I intended this to be a bit of a pilgrimage.
I will go into the experiece in great detail tomorrow, though I am warning you that a lot of it will be a rant. I also had a really great two hours with wide_rider. We discussed our mutual love for our sexy Watcher, plot bunnies, and frustration at writers block. I promised to keep in touch with the journal group, and I will keep that promise. I also said that I would work on a specific story, and I did, but I didn't finish it yet.
Speaking of frustration, I just got home. I should have gotten home at 1:20 this afternoon, but Burbank was fogged in this morning and I missed my connection in Las Vegas. I spent 8 HOURS at the airport there because the other two flights to Tucson were full and I had to wait for the last one. I am not a happy camper. The airline, Southwest, didn't offer any kind of compensation, because it was weather related and beyond their control. I was not the only one, and at least I could entertain myself by reading, playing the slots ( I won $60) etc. I really felt sorry for the woman who was traveling with three kids under the age of 8. I don't know where they spent the time, but she really looked frazzled.
Enough for today, I'm going to bed now.
